Ontwikkelaar Hello Games wist veel lof te vergaren met haar PlayStation 4 titel No Man's Sky, eind juni gaf de studio ook hoop voor een PC versie. Naar nu blijkt zal deze versie er inderdaad komen.
In de laatste uitgave van Edge kondigt Sean Murray deze uitgave namelijk officieel aan. Opvallend genoeg hadden ze deze versie al enige tijd in gedachten, maar bracht hij zichzelf in de problemen door de game in een eerder stadium 'console-y' te noemen:
quote:
“I actually got in a bit of trouble for saying that we wanted the game to feel really ‘console-y,’. We’ve always had PC in mind but in my head [console-y] means solid framerate and immediate controls. I think a PC game can be ‘console-y’ and it’s intended as a compliment, but I get in trouble for saying it.”
Murray legt verder uit dat ze er expres voor hebben gekozen om de PlayStation 4 als hoofdplatform te kiezen, hij vertelt hierover:

“Unlike most games, the actual hardware really affects what we can do in terms of the richness of the worlds and things like that. It isn’t just adding a veneer of resolution, or extra antialiasing options. It has a real effect on what we can actually do in the universe.”
